Big effect

Chromium cut triglycerides sharply in women with PCOS — a large effect in a clinical group, not a general population.

This is early evidence from a well-conducted meta-analysis, but the result is specific to women with PCOS; it does not yet tell us whether the same benefit would appear in healthy people or other conditions.

A meta-analysis of 10 trials in 683 women with PCOS found that 200 μg of chromium picolinate significantly reduced triglyceride levels (a type of blood fat linked to heart risk). The effect was large and statistically robust, but the finding is limited to a specific clinical population and comes from a relatively small body of evidence — so treat it as a promising signal, not a settled fact.

Where this fits in the evidence

This is among the first studies we've indexed on Chromium for Reduced Triglyceride Levels — treat it as an early signal until more research accumulates.
