Internet Gaming Disorder

Internet Gaming Disorder, also known as gaming disorder or video game addiction, is a psychological condition characterized by a compulsive preoccupation with internet gaming that leads to significant impairment in daily functioning across various life domains, marked by unsuccessful attempts to control gaming, a loss of interest in other activities, continued gaming despite negative consequences, and withdrawal symptoms. The disorder is defined by a lack of self-control over gaming, as recognized by the ICD-11.
