Orthorexia Nervosa
Orthorexia nervosa is a proposed eating disorder characterized by an excessive preoccupation with maintaining a diet perceived as "healthy" or "pure," which can lead to psychological distress, social isolation, and potential nutritional deficiencies. Introduced in 1997 by American physician Steven Bratman, this fixation may result in paradoxical unhealthy consequences, including severe malnutrition or even death in extreme cases.
