Retinopathy of Prematurity
Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP), also known as retrolental fibroplasia (RLF) and Terry syndrome, is an eye disease that occurs in prematurely born babies, often those who have received neonatal intensive care with oxygen therapy. It leads to the abnormal growth of blood vessels in the retina, causing potential scarring and retinal detachment, and can result in blindness in severe cases.
