Somatization Disorder
Somatization Disorder, previously recognized in the DSM-IV-TR classification system, is a mental and behavioral condition where individuals experience intense anxiety about multiple, recurring physical symptoms, significantly impairing their ability to perform daily activities, despite normal health test results and reassurance from healthcare providers. In DSM-5, it has been reclassified under somatic symptom disorder, which does not require a specific number of symptoms, though it is still listed in ICD-10 as somatization syndrome.
