Tardive Dyskinesia
Tardive dyskinesia (TD) is a disorder characterized by involuntary, repetitive body movements, such as grimacing, lip smacking, and tongue protrusion, often resulting from long-term use of antipsychotic medications. In approximately 20% of cases, TD significantly interferes with daily functioning, and the reversibility of symptoms depends on their severity and duration before discontinuing the offending drug.
