Tonsillitis
Tonsillitis is the inflammation of the tonsils, two oval-shaped lumps of tissue at the back of the throat, typically caused by a viral infection. It can present acutely or chronically with symptoms such as sore throat, fever, enlarged tonsils, difficulty swallowing, and swollen neck lymph nodes, and may lead to complications like peritonsillar abscess.
