Trichotillomania (TTM), also known as hair-pulling disorder, is a mental health condition characterized by a compulsive urge to pull out one's hair, particularly from the head and around the eyes, resulting in noticeable hair loss and significant distress. Efforts to stop pulling the hair are typically unsuccessful, and individuals may experience a brief positive sensation when hair is removed.
