Trismus

Trismus, or "lockjaw," is a condition characterized by restricted mouth opening due to unpredictable spasms or other underlying causes affecting the muscles of mastication, often leading to difficulties in eating, speaking, oral hygiene maintenance, and potentially increasing the risk of aspiration. This condition can be temporary or permanent, and is often distressing and painful, sometimes resulting in altered facial appearance and hindering oral examinations and treatments.
