Mucuna has been associated with an increased risk of mild and transient dizziness and nausea compared to control in one clinical study. Across two additional studies, it was reported to have a favorable side effect profile or fewer adverse events, with no serious adverse events reported in any of the three studies. Quantitative effect data were not available for these increased events.

Caveats: Evidence is limited to three clinical studies, two of which did not provide quantitative comparisons. Most studies were not specifically powered for safety; rare or long-term adverse events may not be captured. Findings may not generalize to different formulations or populations.
