The evaluation of early and late apoptosis in Caco-2 cells exposed to V. cholerae/S. sonnei and pretreated by L. acidophilus indicated no remarkable difference in L. acidophilus anti-apoptotic effect on Caco-2 cells against invasive and non-invasive bacterial infection.
