Boutheina Ben Abdelmoumen Mardassi She obtained her doctorate in veterinary medicine at the Tunisian National School of Veterinary Medicine at Sidi Thabet in Tunisia. She did a master’s degree in Microbiology and Animal Pathology at the University of Montreal in Canada. In 1991, she completed her Ph.D in Microbiology and Immunology at the Biotechnology Research Institute of Montreal. From 1996 to 1997, she joined Armand-Frappier Institute, University of Quebec, Canada, for a Post-Doctoral training. Since 1998 she has been permanently in charge of diagnostic and research activities in the Mycoplasmas Laboratory at Institut Pasteur de Tunis, Tunisia. She is currently head of the Mycoplasmas Group and the Molecular Microbiology, Vaccinology and Biotechnology Development Laboratory. Her research topics aimed mainly to gain further insight into the genomic of mycoplasmas, and elucidation of the genetic evolution of their antibio- resistance.
