Independant computational scientist in environmental and host-associated microbial ecology. Leadership experience, work with international collaborations and in multidisciplinary teams in a multicultural setup. Highly motivated research scientist with experience in highly ranked academic institutions, collaborations with industrial partners and expert assessments in response to requests from public authorities. Solid expertise in sequencing technology, computational biology and microbiome data science. Enjoys working with state-of the art bioinformatic pipelines to deeply characterise metagenomes/metatranscriptomes as well as bacterial genomes in a environmental, host-associated or clinical context. My most recent investigations encompass: the modelling of spread of AMR genes in the human and animal gut microbiota, the implication of oral microbiota in dental health and disease, the recovery of bacterial MAGs from ancient DNA to trace the genomic evolutionary history of oral bacteria and more recently, the humoral response associated with SARS-CoV-2 infection.
