H. Kunugi

Hiroshi Kunugi Dr. Hiroshi Kunugi graduated from University of Tokyo, Faculty of Medicine in 1986 and started training in clinical psychiatry at Teikyo University School of Medicine, Tokyo. In 1991, he obtained qualification as a psychiatrist from the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Japan, and started to work as a research associate in the Department of Psychiatry at Teikyo University School of Medicine. He obtained Ph.D. from University of Tokyo in 1994 and then started molecular genetics study at the Department of Psychological Medicine at the Institute of Psychiatry, London, until 1995. In 1998 he was promoted to assistant Professor at the Department of Psychiatry, Teikyo University School of Medicine. In 2002, he was appointed Director at the Department of Mental Disorder Research, National Institute of Neuroscience, National Center of Neurology and Psychiatry, Tokyo, Japan (present position). He has been visiting Professor of Bioscience at Waseda University Faculty of Science and Enginerring since 2004 and Yamanshi University Faculty of Medicine as of 2011. In 2020, he moved to Teikyo University School of Medicine as a professor at the Department of Psychiatry. In 2021 he was appointed Professor and Chairman at the Department and Teikyo University hospital.
