Dr. Haiyan Li is currently a Senior Lecturer in Biomedical Engineering Department, School of Engineering, RMIT University. She used to be a vice-chancellor’s senior research fellow in Chemical and Environment Engineering, RMIT University, during 2021-2025. She was a tenured associated professor in School of Biomedical Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University (China) before she joined in RMIT in January of 2021. She received a PhD degree in Materials Science and Engineering in 2005 and has performed research work in Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering field for over 15 years. She completed two postdoctoral research fellow in Monash University (Australia) and INSERM (France) before she joined in Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2011. She has then worked in SJTU for about 10 years, contributing to research and teaching in biomaterials and tissue engineering. She has a strong research track record in biomaterials and tissue engineering, which has led to over 118 peer-reviewed publications, 8 patents (5 has been granted) and about 11 major fundings. Dr Li's current research interests are bioactive hydrogels and microgels for cancer theraoy, tissue regeneration and 3D printing, including 4 from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and 1 from CASS foundation (Australia).
