Hongjuan Peng got her PhD degree from Sun Yat-sen University in 2003, and now she is a professor in School of public health, Southern Medical University (SMU). She was appointed as a “Zhujiang Scholar” distinguished professor of Guangdong province in 2014, and got the honorary title of “Distinguished Teacher of Guangdong Province” in 2021. Her research interests mainly focus on host-pathogen interaction. In this area, she has won a 3rd Prize of Zhonghua Medical Technology, a 2nd Prize of Guangdong Medical Science and Technology, and 2 national invention patents. She has been granted 1 WHO/TDR project, 9 general projects of National Natural Science Foundation Committee (NSFC) and published more than 92 papers in peer reviewed journals.
