Professor of bioprocess engineering, dedicated mostly to development of industrial bioprocesses and bioproducts, bioseparations (downstream processing), bioprocess modeling and engineering education. Graduated in Chemical Engineering at the Federal University of Paraná (1994), holding a Ms degree in chemical engineering / bioprocess development from Federal University of Santa Catarina (1998) and Ph.D. in Biotechnological Processes from Federal University of Paraná (2004). Has experience in bioproduct research, focusing on food and pharmaceutical additives, working on the following subjects: Monascus, microbial biopigments, solid substrate fermentation, microalgal biomass production and processing, and process integration for reuse of agroindustrial residues.
