Name: Wirginia Krzyściak Wirginia Krzyściak, Ph.D., Acting Head of the Department of Medical Diagnostics at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Medical College of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland. She has many years of experience in teaching students. Doc. Krzyściak is an accomplished author with approximately 90 national and international publications, monographs, and textbooks to her credit. She has successfully managed and executed several scientific grants, including an international collaboration with Mayo Clinic Rochester in Minnesota, USA. Her contributions have earned her recognition through her successes in various competitions and the receipt of multiple scientific awards. She serves as a guest editor for the Internal Journal of Molecular Sciences, specifically in the Molecular Neurobiology section, overseeing special issues such as “Biostatistics in Brain Diseases—Future Approaches” and in the Molecular Pathology, Diagnostics, and Therapeutics section, with a focus on special issues like “Biomolecules in the Treatment of Biofilm-Related Diseases.” An active member of the Polish Biochemical Society, Polish Society of Microbiology, and Editorial Board of the Journal Neurology and Neurosurgery Poland. Doc. Krzyściak also holds the position of Secretary of the College of Laboratory Medicine in Poland. Currently, her research is centered on understanding peripheral and brain biochemical pathways related to the response to stress. She investigates how disruptions in biochemical and metabolic processes affect immune mechanisms throughout the body. Doc. Wirginia Krzyściak uniquely combines basic and clinical sciences in her research, which helps her have a comprehensive understanding of disorders of processes related to redox regulation in the body. The outcomes of her research have a major impact on personalized patient care and counseling and provide a better understanding of diseases with mitochondrial potential. Her extensive scientific and diagnostic activities enable her to combine medical facts from various fields, which significantly enhances the interpretation of laboratory test results on a global scale and for various disorders.
