Evidence-Based Supplement Research

I studied at Peking University (PKU) from 2005 to 2009 and obtained my bachelor degree in biological sciences there in 2009. In July, 2009, I started my Ph.D. study in the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). I obtained my Ph.D. degree in medical sciences at CUHK in September, 2013. In the meantime, I worked at BGI (formerly known as Beijing Genomics Institute). And currently, I am working at BGI as a research fellow. My research has been directed toward understanding the genomic features, evolution of plant species, and developing/applying the genomic tools to help improve crops. We majorly applied second generation sequencing, first to try to set up reference genome for different plant species, during which we develop different strategies for species with different genomic contents. We then focused on revealing genomic features of different species and illustrating the evolution of plant genomes. We combine computational, comparative and experimental approaches to analyze the plant genomes. We also try to help the breeding of different crops based on our understanding of those crops.
