Hashimoto's thyroiditis
Hashimoto's thyroiditis, also known as Hashimoto's disease or chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis, is an autoimmune disorder in which the immune system gradually destroys the thyroid gland, leading to hypothyroidism. It is the most common cause of hypothyroidism in developed countries.
