Pueraria Mirifica

Safety profile

4 studies reporting safety data2 increased-risk findings

Across 4 clinical studies, Pueraria Mirifica has been associated with increased C-reactive protein (doubled in one study) and a 15% increase in triglyceride levels from baseline in another study. However, numerous other safety markers—including endometrial thickness, breast tissue effects, liver and renal function, and common adverse events like mastodynia, dizziness, and vaginal spotting—showed no significant difference compared to placebo. Two studies described overall tolerability as good, with mild adverse effects reported in one. No serious adverse events were flagged in any of the studies.

Caveats: Evidence is limited to a small number of studies (4) with relatively short durations; long-term safety and effects in populations beyond healthy adults (e.g., pregnant women, those with pre-existing conditions) are not well characterized. Studies were primarily designed for efficacy, so rare or serious adverse events may not have been detected.
