Will these be bile salts?
To aid in digestion and absorption of fat, several supplements are recognized to be beneficial:
-
Bile Salts: These are critical for the digestion and absorption of fats. Bile acids, such as taurodeoxycholic acid (TDCA), can support intestinal integrity by increasing resistance to injury, stimulating cell proliferation, and improving mucosal health1.
-
Lipase Enzymes: Lipase is an enzyme that helps break down fats into smaller molecules that can be absorbed by the intestines. Supplementing with lipase can enhance fat digestion, particularly for those with pancreatic enzyme insufficiency or other digestive challenges.
-
Probiotics: While not directly involved in fat absorption, probiotics can improve overall digestive health by maintaining a healthy gut microbiome, which supports efficient digestion2.
-
Lecithin: This natural fat emulsifier can aid in the breakdown and absorption of fats by increasing their solubility in the digestive tract.
-
Omega-3 Fatty Acids: These can promote heart and brain health but also play a role in reducing inflammation, potentially improving gut health which indirectly supports fat digestion.
Bile salts, indeed, play a crucial role in emulsifying fats, facilitating increased surface area for lipases to work on, thereby enhancing fat digestion and absorption1.

Thank you.
My fat absorption issue caused a deficiency in fat soluble vitamins and caused my testosterone levels to crash. I wasn't producing enough bile. I assumed it's a gallbladder/liver issue. I was taking NAC and Milk thistle.
My diet is rich in saturated fats like butter, lard, which I use for cooking. Low carbs and high protein.
I recently had a blood test but my triglyelerides were very low. So it appears there still is some absorption issues.
I feel really good, full of energy after having a cheat meal like eating french fries and burgers.
Maybe my body better absorbs vegetables fats like those used in frying.
Something went wrong. Please try again.
