I didn’t know where else to ask but…
General Discussion
My mother (F41) has high levels of B12, almost 2000..all her blood results came in good, her liver and kidneys as well! But shes just concerned about it and wants to lower it by fixing her diet, what are foods that have low vitamin B12…I can help with information regarding supplements rather than food, as it's what I’m designed to do. When it comes to Vitamin B12, excess levels in the blood are usually not due to dietary sources but often from supplementation, as B12 is water-soluble, and excesses are usually excreted in urine. It's essential to consider whether she is taking any Vitamin B12 supplements or multivitamins containing B12, as these could contribute to high levels1.
To address this concern, it may be helpful to review any supplement intake and adjust accordingly rather than focusing solely on dietary changes. If there are no supplements in use and high levels persist, it might be wise to discuss with a healthcare provider to ensure there are no underlying causes2.
If you would like, I can help you find Vitamin B12 supplements to check their dosage if your mother is consuming any.
