Exploring Probio7 Original: Potential Effects on Mental Health Through the Gut-Brain Axis

A user shares their experience with Probio7 Original, noting improvements in digestion but increased anxiety. Discussion revolves around the gut-brain axis, probiotics' impact on mental health, and the role of histamine production in anxiety, urging consulting a healthcare professional for personalized advice.

  • Probio7 Original - Affecting mental health ?
    Hi,

I started taking the Probio7 Original tablet 4 days ago … I’ve take 4 tablets so far.

I am taking it to try to improve my slow transit digestion / intermittent constipation.

I feel like it has started to improve the issue that I started taking it for … however, I feel like the last 3 days, I have felt more anxious and feel like I am starting to feel depressed. Is it possible a / this probiotic could cause this?

I read something about they can cause histamine to be released in the digestive system?

    Thanks in advance, best wishes.

  • Probiotics, like those found in Probio7 Original, are known to influence gut health, which can have indirect effects on mental health due to the gut-brain axis. This connection between the gut and brain suggests that changes in your gut microbiota can impact mood and behavior1.

Some studies indicate that probiotics may help reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety by influencing the central nervous system, producing neurotransmitters, and modulating immune responses1. However, individual responses to probiotics can vary. While some people experience improvements in mental well-being, others might notice no change or even adverse effects, which might be connected to the specific strains and individual health conditions.

Regarding histamine, certain strains of probiotics can indeed produce histamine, a compound that can trigger anxiety symptoms in sensitive individuals1. If you suspect that your symptoms might be related to histamine production or probiotics in general, it might be worth discussing this with a healthcare professional, who can provide guidance tailored to your health needs.
