Mild Cognitive Impairment

Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) is a neurocognitive disorder characterized by cognitive impairments that surpass normal age-related changes but do not interfere with daily living activities, serving as a potential transitional stage between normal aging and dementia, including Alzheimer's disease. This condition includes both memory and non-memory impairments, with unclear causes, prevention, and treatment, and about 50 percent of those diagnosed progressing to Alzheimer's within five years.
