Syncope (medicine)

Syncope, commonly known as fainting, is a sudden loss of consciousness and muscle strength due to decreased blood flow to the brain, often preceded by symptoms like lightheadedness, sweating, and blurry vision. Postural syncope, a type of syncope, occurs with a sudden drop in blood pressure from quick positional changes, and can be caused by dehydration and certain medications.
