Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis Bi-07

Safety profile

3 studies reporting safety data1 increased-risk finding

Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis Bi-07 has been associated with increased risk of nausea in one study (OR 4.0, P = 0.005), while two additional studies reported no specific adverse events or described the probiotic as generally well tolerated in healthy active adults over up to 5 months. No serious adverse events were flagged across the 3 clinical studies.

Caveats: Limited evidence base (3 studies); absence of reported adverse events does not establish safety. Most studies were in healthy adults, and safety in vulnerable populations (e.g., children, pregnant women, immunocompromised individuals) has not been characterized.
