Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis Bi-07

Safety profile

3 studies reporting safety data1 increased-risk finding

In one clinical study, Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis Bi-07 was associated with an increased odds of nausea (OR 4.0, P = 0.005) compared to placebo. Two other studies reported no specific adverse events or described the probiotic as well tolerated over 5 months in healthy active adults. No serious adverse events were flagged across the three studies.

Caveats: Evidence is limited to three studies, most of which were not primarily designed to assess safety — rare adverse events may not be detected. Findings may not generalize to populations other than healthy adults.
